L'oie sauvage qui habite le désert, lorsqu'elle voit Israël se consacrer à l'étude de la Torah, dit : « Une voix proclame dans le désert, Déblayez la route de l'Éternel ; nivelez dans la campagne aride, une chaussée pour notre Dieu. » (Isaïe 40:3) Quant à la difficulté de trouver sa nourriture dans le désert, elle dit : Maudit soit l'homme qui place sa confiance en un mortel. Béni l'homme qui se confie en l'Éternel et dont l'Éternel est l'espoir. » (Jérémie 17:5-7)

The Wild Goose flying in the wilderness, when it sees Israel busy with Torah, is saying, “A voice cries, Prepare in the wilderness the way of God, make straight in the desert a path for our God.” (Isaiah 40:3) And upon finding its food in the wilderness, it says, “Cursed is the man who trusts in human beings… Blessed is the man who trusts in God, and God shall be his assurance.” (Jeremiah17:5,7)

אֲוַז הַבָּר הַמְּשׁוֹטֶטֶת בַּמִּדְבָּר, כְּשֶׁרוֹאֵה אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל עוֹסְקִים בַּתּוֹרָה, אוֹמֶרֶת

"קוֹל קוֹרֵא בַּמִּדְבָּר, פָּנוּ דֶּרֶךְ יי, יַשְׁרוּ בַּעֲרָבָה מְסִלָּה לֶאֱלֹהֵינוּ" (ישעיה מ ג) 

וְעַל מְצִיאוּת מְזוֹנוֹתֶיהָ בַּמִּדְבָּר אוֹמֶרֶת: "אָרוּר הַגֶּבֶר אַשֵּׁר יִבְטַח בָּאָדָם,

בָּרוּךְ הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר יִבְטַח בְּיי וְהָיָה יי מִבְטָחוֹ" (ירמיה יז ח)
